Spellweaver Keirku Salamir

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Keirku always loved song. The emotion, the creativity, the passion within each note. So when he found out about The Otherworld and the magic that reacted to song, he was there within the week. When he arrived, there were only a dozen or so people working on how to cast using the unlimited magic available. His bardic background allowed him to control his voice far better than the other mages at the time. Since then, he has been working to create new spells. Spells can only apply force so far, but Keirku has been able to find new and interesting ways to apply that force. He has also supposedly been trying to replicate some of the effects of the latent magic in the otherworld, such as shaping the land and influencing monsters. He has had no success but he still tries. After all, if uncontroled storms of wild magic can do more, why can't he?

Accomplishments & Achievements

Keirku's greatest accomplishment is his vast repertoire of spells that he has invented. From a great explosion that blasts away everything around it to giving an ally a gentle. constant push to increase their speed and agility. Yet ask Keirku, and he'll say his best spell is what he calls his "Arcane Serpent". It applies force all around a creature, restricting its movement as if they are in a snake's coils. It is effectively like putting the target in a magic cage. This spell has been used countless times by scholars to restrain monsters for study, and by hunters to give them a leg up on their quarry.

Failures & Embarrassments

One of Keirku's biggest failures so far has been his attempts at a landscaping spell. The Otherworld is in a state of constant flux, with mountains rising and falling, lakes springing into being, and  and Keirku hopes to replicate this ability to shape the land to his desire. But so far, the closest he has come to moving the land is blowing holes in it.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Keirku has a driving curiosity, and a strong desire to forge a new path forward. He has seen wild magic do many strange and wondrous things and he hopes to harness all these powers through his songs.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

As the most powerful bard in the Otherworld, Keirku has a mastery of rhythm and great control over his voice. He has also gained a large amount of knowledge of the Otherworld from his years studying its magic.

Great start and very cool HeroForge mini. You could perhaps include a bit more about his past. Is he a bard that only sings or can he also play an instrument? Where did he learn to become a bard? Does he have any family, friends, or companions (perhaps a creature affected by the magic of Otherworld that enjoyed his songs)? Does he live full time in Otherworld, or perhaps have his own research outpost set up with a portal that goes there?

Feel free to stop by some of my WorldEmber articles if you want. My favorites are The Book of the Unquiet Dead, Outpost of the Moons, and The Emerald Hills. Feedback is always appreciated.

I figure he lives in the Otherworld full time. He's got a whole base set up far enough away from everyone that if something explodes no one else gets hurt. Well, him and the apprentices eager to help him develop his spells. Someone this influential is bound to have fans flock to him, and ambitious mages hoping to probe his mind to help them with their developments.

Loving the heroforge mini, always nice to see someone else create snake people :p Wait until Amélie gets to comment here she adores them :p pretty neat concept to have him actually be better at magic thanks to his bardic skill instead of it coming from bard magic.

Feel free to check my new world Terra Occidentalis if you want to see what I am up to!

That one is an amusing character, mainly because he is a bad-ass at his profession and has some flaws and is driven by knowledge and the need to understand magic better. The scientific approach to understanding is very dear to me, so it plucked on a very special heartstring there.   I'd love to know more about the failures and motivation and his life outside his research. He seems like a potentially complex character. What happened to the lands he placed holes in? Do people respect him despite that, or did he destroy a vital piece of land by accident and angried someone?   Thanks for a pleasant read! :D

That's a fun character :D I love how he experiments with his songs and magic and try to do new cool stuff with them. Did he leave anyone behind when he came to the overworld? Or did he have no ties and so no regrets?
