Oceanus

Oceanus started as a project to develop a homebrewed D&D setting for my friends and I. It went from simply being a world that was part of the multiverse for my series of fantasy novels, however, I ended up starting to flesh it out and expand it into a setting for 4e at the time.

Flash forward to today, when I started to work on my fantasy series, and I rediscovered Oceanus sitting the metaphorical dusty folders of my flash-drives. I realized I had left it sitting for such a long time, and the urge to begin to go back and rebuild it was very strong - so I did.

This was also pushed by the fact that I now had a gaming and entertainment podcast and had interviewed many many RPG creators and designers. Their stories of creating worlds and building them sparked my want to start creating again.

So, the premise of Oceanus. The world of Morketh is a high adventure, swashbuckling homage to Pirates of the Caribbean, Eberron, Eragon, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, Conan the Barbarian, and a slew of other titles that influenced me as a middle schooler. I wanted to create a world where all these ideas and characters were able to live together and create a world.

I built it, and put it away. Now, almost eight years later, it's time to dig it back out from the archives, and rebuild it fresh and new
