The Emperor

The current Emperor of Daqin is a gregarious man of boundless cheer. Though he works toward more direct political control, the realities of the Imperial Court's weak position means that he spends most of his time enjoying the benefits of his wealth. These include near constant feasting, the opportunity to make many interesting friends, and a full sixteen of the country's most beautiful women as wives. He has a keen eye for faces and knows all of his direct subordinates and nobles by name. He presides over all official initiation ceremonies for imperial departments and the graduation of all state officials.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

The Emperor longs for the days of old when his ancestors ruled the land as direct monarchs, capable of sweeping changes and natural improvements with but a word. He believes that the avenue to restore his divine right lies in the great people trapped within lives of peasantry by circumstance of birth. After all it is they whom the nobility most harm with their petty wars, and they who would most welcome the monarch's restoration. To this end he works to insure commoners who apply to imperial posts are given preferential treatment.

Vices & Personality flaws

The Emperor's relative egalitarianism is born largely from his naivety and lack of any life experience outside of the confines of the palace. He is easily taken in by charlatans, regarding even the most outlandish claims with great credulity.
Emperors of Daqin by tradition lose their personal name upon ascension to the throne. They are only given a unique identifier after death with a posthumous temple name.
