Centaur

The centaurs are a race of men possessing the body of a horse and torse of a man. They are swiftest of the steppe groups and as such take more dangerous routes than others would dare due to their ability to outpace most possible threats, and using composite bow fire undisturbed by any jostling between horse and rider to deal with those who pursue. They usually herd animals capable of similar bursts of speed such as the oryx and antelope.

Centaur

Standard Racial Traits
• Ability Score Racial Traits: Centaurs are strong and fast, but easily brought to anger and lose their composure. They gains +2 Strength and +2 Dexterity but suffer -2 Wisdom.
• Type: Centaurs are monstrous humanoids.
• Size: Centaurs are large creatures and thus gain a -1 size penalty to their AC, a -1 size penalty on attack rolls, a +1 bonus to their CMB and CMD, and a -4 size penalty on Stealth checks.
• Base Speed: Centaurs are fast even for their size, and have a base speed of 50 feet.
• Languages: Centaurs begin play speaking Steppe. Centaurs with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
• Natural Mount (Ex): A centaur counts as having the Mounted Combat feat only for the purpose of meeting feat prerequisites, and substitutes the Acrobatics skill for any Ride skill prerequisites when acquiring feats that have Mounted Combat as a prerequisite. Because of his equine form, a centaur can wield a lance one-handed as if mounted and deals double damage with a lance while charging. A centaur can never gain the benefit of the Mounted Combat feat (or other similar feats or effects, such as Trick Riding) if ridden by another creature. If a centaur would gain natural mount from more than one source they gain a mounted combat feat that they meet the prerequisites for in place of the second instance of natural mount.
Movement Racial Traits
• Fast Movement (Ex): Centaurs gain a +10 foot bonus to their base speed (this is already added to their Base Speed above)
• Quadruped (Ex): Centaurs have four legs.
Senses Racial Traits
• Tundra Eyes (Ex): Despite being monstrous humanoids centaurs do not possess darkvision. Instead their eyes are adapted to see in the Scalp Steppe's infrequent but very severe blizzards. They can see twice as far as humans when their vision would be restricted by obscuring particulate or vapor such as during a blizzard or in an obscuring mist spell.
Weakness Racial Traits
• Undersized Weapons (Ex): Although a centaur is large its upper torso is the same size as that of a medium humanoids. As a result they wield weapons as if they were on size category smaller than their actual size. This also applies to any natural weapons they acquire.
