Great Northern Alliance
The Great Northern Alliance is a post-Remaran successor state that lays claim to the vast regions of the Great North. It is less a single state and more of a loose alliance between the various baronies, settlements, and petty kingdoms that were left in the wake of the Remaran Empire's disolution in 120 BC. Some of the northernmost groups did not join the new occidental empire, refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of the RSI, and so revolted. As time went on more and more of the northern realms splintered away, joining the new strange alliance of convenience that occupied the northern reaches of the continent.
It has no actual central government, although it has united in the past to oppose aggression from Varshalshka, orc hordes, and the some of the more powerful kings in northern Occident.
History
Of all the various states left after Remara collapsed, the petty kingdoms of the Great North were the least affected. Due to their distance from the capital, they had very few ties to central imperial power anyways -- the collapse effectively just made that state of affairs official.
