Ibis Academy

The Ibis Academy is an organization that works to preserve knowledge in all its forms as a way to honor the death of Thoth, the God of Wisdom, Magic, and Judgement.

Structure

The leader of the organization is Kolvar Luneiros titled the GRAND MASTER. Under him, are MASTERS, there are a total of NINE Masters, one for each of the Arcane Traditions. The Masters each control their specific "school" for the Ibis Council. Together, they act as the Ibis Council. SAGES are few in number, as each sage is the head of a local bureau for the Ibis Academy, typically in the form of an Arcane Academy. Sages that do not head an Arcane Academy head a Bureau that may take part in exploration, investigation, experimentation, etc. MAVEN are those experienced enough that they are chosen to lead the adventuring parties. SAVANT are students that progress to a level that the Academy deems powerful enough to be a part of adventuring parties that are sent out for specific tasks dictated by those of higher rank to them. ADEPTS are those students who have been accepted by a Master to learn magic of a specific Arcane Tradition. FELLOWS are those that have just been accepted as students into the Ibis Academy

Public Agenda

Their public agenda is to gather tomes and any sources of knowledge. They also work to protect certain researchers and those who aim to discover from ay dangers that may befall them.

The Ibis Academy has built a small city surrounding its Avalol Arcane Academy, its headquarters.

History

The Ibis Academy was founded in the aftermath of the Clash of the Immortals. After this war, it was believed that Thoth, the God of Wisdom, Magic, and Judgement, was killed. In order to fulfill that loss of knowledge, Kolvar Luneiros founded the Ibis Academy; Its purpose to gather as much knowledge as possible, with a focus on gathering arcane knowledge. After 300 years, The Ibis Academy had gathered a vast library of tomes and other artifacts. It was then that the Ibis Academy's library was pillaged by a kingdom that sought to use that knowledge to expand its empire. Most of the Ibis Academy were killed in this attack. Surviving members were hunted in order to find tomes secreted away. Kolvar and others who survived this purge worked to rebuild the organization. This time, they would not become victims. They trained those who joined the Ibis Academy in various ways to be able to defend themselves and the Academy. However, 150 years after the Academy began to train its members, the Ibis Council secretly created the White Capes. The White Capes served as a military force that would purposefully hunt and eliminate any dangers to the Academy and/or knowledge. None except the Ibis Council know of the White Capes association with the Ibis Academy. In the present, the Ibis Academy has reclaimed much of their previously stolen library.
