Disciples of Do'Loradin

"Those who are born Unbound may be led to believe that they cannot be a part of the Light's plan, unable to uphold the Oath. This is false. The Oath is a purposeful act, a choice, a way of life. It is not something you are born with or without. It is something you will yourself to become."
-One of the core teachings of Draconus Do'Loradin

Shared customary codes and values

Personal Improvement: Followers of Do'Loradin focus on the goal of becoming the absolute best they can be, despite any hardship, setback, disability or disadvantage they have faced or might face in the future.
Respect: While they know that respect is best earned, Do'Loradin's teachings stress that a level of respect should be shown to all, as a matter of personal courtesy. It reflects poorly on an individual to treat others in any way lesser than they expect to be treated.
Endurance: There is no strength greater than never giving up. Life is a test and all the struggles you will face are the factor by which the measure of your will shall be counted.
Integrity: Speak only the truth, for the truth is never wrong. No matter the task or trial, once you give your word that it will be done, stop at nothing to see it through.

Common Dress code

There is no requirement of dress, though a uniform of sorts is prevalent. Newer disciples wear hooded cowls, and dress in all black. A fully realized follower of Do'Loradin wears a black leather mantle and waist-length cape, with feather motifs and raven imagery.

Coming of Age Rites

Once a disciple has proven their commitment to Do'Loradin's teachings, they are instructed to forge their own weapon as a physical testament to their independence and individualism.

Historical figures

Draconus Do'Loradin was born Unbound and struggled in early life to find his place in society. He resolved himself to become a weapons master to make up for his lack of any magical ability and prove himself in battle. With a fervor that often unsettled his peers, he forced himself to endure training that broke the resolve of less committed students and devoted all waking moments to improving the skills he had set his mind to. After succeeding in multiple fields and becoming the first Unbound Elf to join the The Shadow Watch, he attracted a following of others who were Unbound and even some individuals who were simply inspired by his example. These Disciples formed their own community based on his teachings and set about becoming an example to all those who had doubted them that the will to overcome struggle was stronger than any challenge.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

The idea of genders confining one to a particular lifestyle is laughable in the eyes of those who follow Do'Loradin. While they acknowledge that an individual's sex has an impact on their physical attributes, they know that they have overcome much more daunting limitations.
