Buildings in the city are mud-brick and adobe which stay cool underneath the hot desert sun, and warm in the chilly desert nights. The brick-laden streets are lined with palm trees, aloe, small cacti, lotus, and lily blossoms.
Geography
The city formed in a crescent shape surrounding Oasis Lake and spills out slightly into the desert itself.
