Sand Ayllu

South of the Clay Ayllu's territory lies the Salt Desert: an endless expanse of grey sand and white, solified salt. They are telltale signs of an ancient, dried sea which occupied that zone in the past.   This cruel territory looks unoccupied and in many place it really is. However, sometimes you can see in the horizon strange drawings, that span over the whole slope of a hill or a mesa. These are the petroglyphs of the Akho Ayllu, the Sand clan of the dwarves, who use these signs as sacred places and meeting points.   The sand dwarves are nomads, famous for their ability with looms. The greatest ponchos in Nurna are always of sand dwarf manufacture: they can weave colored guanaco wool to a point where the eye doesn't know where to look, lost in the intrincate patterns of dream-like geometrical designs. Some people say that Sand-dwarven ponchos are small pieces of the Great Dream, and legends tell that some of them can drive mad anyone who stares too much time into their intrincate designs.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

THOU SHALT NOT WASTE WATER   Given that they live in the dry Salt Desert, sand dwarves are thrifty by nature. For them, more than a sip of water a day is getting to close to wasting water.   Tribal Tradition Rules: Akho Ayllu characters won't drink more than one gallon of any liquid per day, including water, potions or any other type of drinkable liquids (this includes alcoholic drinks like chicha, dwarven corn beer). Therefore, if they have taken one potion this day, they will refuse to take another until the next day. Not following this prerrogatives will be considered a violation of this Tradition and the character can become Tainted.
Subracial traits   Ability score increase: your Wisdom score increases by 1   Watercunning: substitute the "Stonecunning" trait of the dwarves for this trait. Whenever you make an Survival check related to the origin or quality of some water (it can be used when trying to discern if its drinkable or not), or when looking for it (inside caves, during desert travels, in a city, etc) you are considered proficient in the Survival skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus. Sand dwarves are survival experts, and can find water even in the most unsuspected places.
