Ewura

Geography

The centre of the continent is occupied by the Daïdänt - a range of mountain that contains some of the highest peaks in the world. To the east are rolling hills and wide river valleys, becoming tropical as they progress northwards. To the west of the Daïdänt, the foothills extend to the cost and are riven with deep fjords and sheer cliffs.
The Western Isles, Sondia, Zal, Ezutetakal, and Lwakha, are relatively low-lying and thickly forested.

Ecosystem

The region experiences four seasons, with long, warm summers and relatively cool winters. The wide variety of biomes and extensive coastlines means that Ewura is habitable for all known sapient species.

Localized Phenomena

The Gnóttvǫllr pass is a infamous arcane dead-zone. The pass itself is a region of total arcane inactivity, unable to support even the simplest cantrips, and magic remains erratic even up to three miles inland. More complicated spells and charms are the first and most spectacular to to fail, and relatively simple spells will degrade more rapidly than expected.
People with arcane assistive devices are strongly encouraged to consult with their care team before travel to the region.

Natural Resources

Outside the mountainous grasslands, Ewura is well-forested and temperate, and large portions of the east are given over to arable land. The mountains themselves are rich sources of various metals, most notably copper and tin, making Leide, Pedrina and Sorenland significant names in the production of bronze, and neighbouring countries (notably Alva and Kjeforland) famous for their production of high-quality tools and arcane reseach.

Tourism

Every year, hundreds of people visit Ruibarsa, on the island of Lwakha to participate in the philosophical debates held in the Waters of Truth.
Various Gardens of Remembrance have become site of pilgrimage for fans of interred celebrities, with certain gardens attracting large crowds at significant anniversaries despite the College of Necromancers' attempt to maintain a useable space for bereaved families. Tourists are advised to contact the College before travel to avoid disappointment.
