The Holy Order of the Monks of Hester

During the Second Great War there was a man who stood out as a great leader of men and friend to all races. This was Rafael Monsalo. Beside him rode a simple man of faith, Hester. This learned man was a master of healing and had learned much about the uses of herbs and such with the desire to be able to heal when his divine spells had run out. He was just a local cleric of a small village. When Monsalo's grand army rode through the village one day, Hester followed. In battle after battle Hester healed the wounded with herbs and techniques he called churgery. One day, soldiers entered his tent carrying a corpse. They implored him to turn all his attention to this man saying "without him we shall all of us perish." Hester bowed down above the lifeless body and said, "he is dead, no herb or cutlery can save him now. Let us pray." And so, Hester used all of the divine prayer power at his disposal to raise the man, Monsalo, from the dead. As Monsalo opened his eyes, Hester fell into a swoon that lasted until dawn.   Hester no sooner awoke than he began to heal the wounded. He had lost precious time and wanted to make up for it. At high sun, the others working in Hester's tent forced him to sit and eat. Though he initially resisted, he acquiesced, tears running down his face for the men who would die while he ate.   The battle had been fought all the night and into the next day. The orcs, emboldened by the slaying of the captain of the army, had pressed ever deeper towards the flatlands. Upon seeing Monsalo again at the head of his forces, the orcs lost morale and were pushed back up into the mountains, though with great difficulty. When Monsalo returned to Hester's humble medical tent, he bowed before Hester and thanked him for the resurrection. Monsalo vowed to one day give him all that he could want to carry on his work.   At the end of the war, Monsalo kept his promise to Hester. Monsalo convinced the bishops to allow to form a new order, based on Hester's principles of healing. Along with the Readiness Proclamation of 58040, Monsalo built the great Winkelreid Monastery and many community chapels and supplied them all.
