A group of sorcerers from Port Valor meet in Krath, trying to secure a ship to go back home. Their open display of magic alerts the locals and two of them trace the group back to their boarding house.
The two proceed to bar all entrances to the building and light it on fire. By the time the Inquisition arrives the building was already burnt to the ground, claiming the lives of all but 3 of its 125 inhabitants. The vast majority of those killed where mostly Free Folk low-magic users.
Port Valor closes all of its harbors and ports across the Cruel Sea to ships from the Empire of Ader.
