Ir'vouthor Empire
The Ir'vouthor Empire, or the Moon Elven Empire, was an ancient empire that spanned over the Kaviri Highlands, the Northern Forest, Lake Kadia, and some parts of modern day Imperial Lands and Athos. The name Irv'outhor translates in Elvish to "Lunar Empire", making the phrase "Ir'vouthor Empire" inherently redundant. The shape of the lands under the empire's control formed a crescent, and some scholars believe that this shape is actually the reason for the name Moon Elf.
The Empire's collapse was supposedly "violent, sudden, and culturally disruptive", with no contemporary records neither explaining the collapse nor referring to the empire. All knowledge of it stems either from Elves in reverie or from archeological findings.
While initially most tales were dismissed, in the early 1100's AC archeological evidence of the empire's existence was uncovered, with additional fruitful excavations taking place where the tales alleged cities should be.
Territories
The empire's expansionistic ambitions coincided with its founder's adherance to the teachings of Asal Kianmehr; its major and longest conquest began circa 650 BC and lasted for over a century, ending a few years prior to Idesirivalis's death. Moved by the logic and morality of Oscilaism, the empire's representative rulers, the Lunarchs, were held to high standards by the king of the night sky; they were seen more as advisors rather than rulers, and their stated goal was to guide their subjects into the superior form of thinking offered by the oscilists.
Military
The Ir'vouthori army was much larger than its contemporeries, and is believed to have had anywhere between 30,000 and 70,000 soldiers, with some (largely unfounded) estimates claiming it was comprised of over 100,000 soldiers at its height.
