Nubiru

Discovered by the private Space-faring corporation Seraph inc. in 2099, Nubiru is the 4th planet from it's star. It was originally heavily sought after due to it's deposits of a valuable mineral known as Ambrosium. Ambrosium served as a more abundant alternative to fossil fuels, which in 2099 was growing increasingly scarce, and was heavily contributing to a wide array of global conflicts. The prospect of an untapped wealth of resources, as well as all the potential for a new life made Nubiru very attractive for those who could afford to make the long voyage. As a result, space travel became increasingly commercialized, and more accessible. Due to the expensive nature of the business however, it catered mainly to upper middle class families. Due to a labor shortage however, many poorer families would gain access to Nubiru through contracts signed with mining companies. These contracts would normally state that the company would pay for room and board on the planet for workers and their families, under the condition that they would continue to work for an established period of time for lower wages, with living expenses covered. Due to the unstable situation on Earth, for many families this was the best option. Nubiru however, wasn't prepared for this mass migration due to it's previous status as a small mining colony. Because of this, a proper police force wasn't properly established, and with the massive spike in migration, crime ran rampant. In order to respond to this problem, bounty hunters began to enforce the law, turning in convicts for payment.
