Tyldaa Medical Center
The Tyldaa Medical Center is the hub for medical services in Tyldaa, and is also where the medic collective meets. Originally, Tyldaii medics operated out of the cargo bay of a shuttle after it ran out of fuel, and the Center has grown around and on top of it, somewhere between an encampment and a campus. Today, the shuttle, serving as the centerpiece of the campus, remains as a memorial hall and educational space, adjacent to the main courtyard and receiving area. At times, when medics give counsel and need privacy, the old cargo bay, door jammed open though it is, serves well as a semi-secluded area.
Purpose / Function
Originally a cargo shuttle from the days of the Founding, which some of the original settlers crammed themselves onto in order to escape the runaway Terpsichore, it now functions as part of a medical clinic. In the early days of Tyldaa, the courtyard also functioned as a meeting-spot for the original city Committee, Council, Watch, and various other groups.
Alterations
As Tyldaa has grown, its needs as a city have as well--and the medic collective has, over the years, bolted on various other structures and awnings to the old shuttle. The collective also uses it to support the privacy fence for the courtyard. Its long-suffering batteries also supply the Center's power needs, fed in turn by solar panels strewn around on top of it or propped up by supports on awnings.
Architecture
The Center is a mix of rambling but sturdy hodgepodge, and more recent attempts at making cleaner lines. The side has been painted in several inspiring murals, using pigments made from native plants and soil.
