Apostle's Moon
"Stay inside, lock your doors and be ready for a fright. Hide your children and your dogs; the Apostle's Moon's tonight!,"
History
Roughly once every eighteen months, the two moons of Novus (Morven and Uxley) aligned and eclipse the sun. Partum is plunged into a three day long darkness where the denizens of the night become stronger and bolder.
As long as the people of Partum can remember, at least once every two years, the countryside becomes a lightless landscape. Citizens not protected by massive steel-stone walls do well to lock their doors and stay inside. In smaller villages, a town often gather in the cellars of the bigger homes to wait out the nights together. People tell stories of monsters and creatures that roam the night, knocking on doors and dragging travelers to their doom.
While its significance lost to time, the Apostle's Moon serves as the bridge between the Material and the Immaterial, when the connection between the two is the strongest. Centuries ago, under the eclipse, Therium gave rise to his strongest followers: the Apostle's of Therium.
Execution
During the Apostle's Moon, those touched by the influence of the Immaterial become markedly stronger. During the seventy-two hours of darkness, the line between the two worlds becomes almost invisible, allowing for things to pass into the Material. Or into the Immaterial.
