Caldera is the newest continent, founded only 200 years ago. Despite it being along known trade routes it was not discovered earlier leading to rumors of its origins being magical in nature. Current theories are that the hand of Abadar, removed during his struggle against Rovagug fell into the ocean sending the bottom of the ocean upwards allowing it to pierce the ocean surface creating a new landmass.
