Dakrainenew Organization in Novanati | World Anvil

Dakrainenew

Dakrainenew is a relatively large country located in Northern Molter. It is a quiet country, not known to stand out or stand up for much. While its sights are considered beautiful, and there are dense forests all throughout the country, it does not see a large volume of visitors each year. Dakraineians are largely considered to be a secretive group of creatures, as not much is truly known about the country by outsiders. Many of its customs and traditions are kept highly guarded within creatures of its ranks. What is known is that it is a democratic republic, and operates on a system of appointed Judges who create and uphold the law.

Structure

The country is organized in a democratic republic type way. They are headed by a Lead Judge, who finalizes all decisions made by the Council of Judges below them. The Lead Judge and Council of Judges are all elected by the creatures of Dakrainenew. This is aimed to make lawmaking fair and to give representation to all creatures of the country.

Public Agenda

Dakrainenew’s public agenda is largely unknown to those outside of the country. Their motto, “Believe in Peace”, does say a good bit about them, however. Due to their roots as a penal colony, they do their best to keep out of wars and battles. They are largely uninterested in the goings-on of other countries, so long as it does not affect them. Their current Head Judge does appear to be leading them in the direction of more involvement, however, and this frightens many of the citizens of the country.

Assets

The most important and highly sought after assets of Dakrainenew include its topaz and opal mines, steam engines, and electric tools. Electricity is a recent phenomenon in the world of Novanati, and many creatures and countries want to get in on it in the hopes of making money. Dakrainenew does not trade much, but when it does, it comes at a cost.

History

Founded in the year 1842 AS, Dakrainenew’s original purpose was as a penal colony for those who turned against or defected from the military force of the neighboring country, Slomo Taandsou. It quickly gained a reputation for being a harsh place, from which very few escaped alive. Even within Slomo Taandsou, the penal colony was not very well liked. It had been founded on ancestral lands of a group of Wild Dogs, and they did not take kindly to the intrusion (though they were quickly shot down by Slomo Taandsou’s forces).   Eventually growing tired of the subjugation from the other country, one of the Wild Dogs, a female named Mridula Korrapati, approached one of the enslaved prisoners, a young male Saber named Salih Singh. She gave him a proposition: if he would work with her to get her ancestral lands back from the invading forces, she would free him and the rest of the prisoners and forgive their crimes when she founded her new nation. Salih jumped at the chance; he had defected from the harsh military to care for his family, and was currently unable to.   Using the combined force of Mridula’s tribe and the ex-soldiers on Salih’s side, a three-year-long war broke out between the rebels and the Taandsian military. Despite being outnumbered, the rebels managed to win, and drove the invading country out of the penal colony and ancestral lands. Essentially having been freed, the former prisoners were allowed to stay in the new country that Mridula founded and called Dakrainenew.

Believe in Peace.
