Oh lawd it's here again.

The Goal

  Write 10,000 words.

The Promise

  Write 10,000 words.

Try not to get hooked up on formatting.

  AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Focus on school first.

You can always stay up and catch up on WE after the semester ends.

Do your best.

Good luck to anyone reading this hot mess!
I would like to try and focus on nocte vocat, but I don't want to limit any creativity either. So to try and curb that, I'm going to make a table of ideas catered to this world, to get the subconscious ideas flowing, but allow myself to stray if the need arises.

This is a world that I want to create roleplays for, though at the same time I can easily see myself writing some short stories based within this 'verse. I also think it'd be fun to create the world intro something akin to an interest check (two birds one stone yadda yadda).

I also want to keep building the css theme as the month goes on, but I definitely don't want it to become the focus. But maybe in between writing sprints or something so I don't burn myself out.

Category Concepts Brief Ideas to Vibe to
Building The Vatican The Holy Centre of the world-- It is the only place in existence that's mirrored completely topside and bottom side. While being the largest church in either kingdom, it's true purpose is being the headquarters for the Dark Chapter, the Knights of Leyton, and Heaven's Helpers.
Character Character Sheet or Myles Belaqua This might be taking the easy way out, but since this is intended to be an rp, I think developing a solid character sheet is a good idea. Something short, sweet, and to the point. I also think having players develop their own spells and attacks would be interesting-- if not time consuming for both parties. / Myles B. da homie.
Condition The Sickness Blue-tinged lips. Sore blue-black eyes. A ragged cough that too easily leads to wheezing. Blood in the tissue... The Sickness is a terrifying reality for those who live topside and even for those on the front lines...
Conflict The Striped Devils A newspaper-like article relaying "recent news" about the Striped Devils. I think this would be a good springboard for players to read about certain factions. If this goes well, I would say do one for Aoiyke and Haverstiech Guild. Basically an overview of who they are and what they do, a look into their goals and desires, prolific members spotlight, etc.
Document God's Writ The tenets of the Dark Chapter.
Ethnicity "Bottomsiders" Those born and raised in the opulent caverns of the Kingdom of Lights don't have to worry about the Sickness, and have suffered very few effects from transitioning underground nearly two-hundred years ago.
Geography Explore the Region I'd like to take a bit and just explore the region-- topside and bottom side, and get a feel for the area. I know topside there's a medium sized kingdom, but it sprawls, with a lot of useless farmland stretched between uniquely placed cities. The center of both bottom and topsides is of course the Vatican. There are mountains to the north and east, turbulent rivers to the west, and a coast, eventually, to the south.
Item Talisman's of Light As the name suggests, these are talisman's of light-- often carried by those who live in the Kingdom of Light. Ironically named, the Kingdom of Light is surrounded by near-darkness in most by-ways between larger caverns, and any Summoner worth their salt can make a steady living selling charged talismans.
Language Runic Dictionary Whether you're coding for holy or unholy magic, knowledge of runes is almost always a necessity.
Natural Law The Bond of Blight A brief look into how Dark Chapter members can go toe-to-toe with large demonic blights. It should also be an overview for players to know what they're getting into if they choose to sign up, as all players will be members of the Dark Chapter.
Material Blessed Silver Blessed silver is toxic to blightlings and it severs their innate regenerative abilities. Curiously, Ascendeds are immune to this effect, and often use it in the creation of weapons. Blessed silver-- or any blessed object, for that matter --is in abundance, and Dark Chapter members just need to sign the materials out.
Military Unit The Dark Chapter An important article for players, I think. More so even, than the interest check. Here, I want to outline and then detail what the Dark Chapter is, what their goals and desires are, what they're up against, the player agency and creativity, the format of the Chapter(s) and the division between ranks, magic and non-magic users, what a day in the life of a Dark Chapter member is, etc.
Myth/Legend The Knight of Leyton There was once a Knight who came from the cavern of Leyton who happened upon three fairies, each promising to grant one wish.
Organization The Effacers The Kingdom of Light's defense against the blight and the Sickness. The Effacers quarantine all topsiders, even those within the Dark Chapter, before they can step foot into the Kingdom of Light. As there are only three known entrances, these measures keep blight to a very low minimum-- especially considering the measures they go to. Effacers blast their subjects with powerful, penetrating light that can cause one to go blind if not given the correct safety measures. Skin is usually burned as well, though it's usually nothing more than a light sunburn. (Ointment is given afterwards that speeds up the healing process.) This light destroys blight, though it does nothing to the Ascended slowly dying from the sickness.
Profession Blight Plower The pour souls who make a meager living plowing away the fallen blight topside. Barely paid enough chits to pay rent and tax, blight plower's are granted four extra food packets a month, and more often than not, people see that as worth the trade. Anything but desirable, a blight plower is a reliable profession that many know they may have to fall back upon.
Plot Interest Check Detail the plot that I want to explore with players. >Sekrit til the reveal.
Rank/Title The Pope Similar to our worlds pope, nocte vocat's Pope is always the 'Commander in Chief' of the Dark Chapter, as well as temporary ruler for top or bottom side if ever needed.
Settlement Bridgeport A squat town, west towards the rivers, is swathed in water logged marshes, and the main form of transportation is by raft. The large otters, tamed by the locals, usually ferry barges to and fro the main shores. Once every three months, the gas in the water "ignites" and the area becomes alive with dancing willow-the-wisps. This has become a day of celebration among the locals.
Species Blightlings The demonic beings formed when blight clumps and forms together. They can take on all sorts of shapes, depending upon how much blight has been coalesced. While there does seem to be a relation in higher amounts of blight and intelligence, that isn't a guarantee.
Spell Holy vs Unholy The difference between holy and unholy spellcrafting. What makes one a member of the brother/sisterhood of holy or unholy magics?
The Daemonium Circle
Spell | Jan 21, 2021
Technology The Light of God The engine that keeps the lights in the Kingdom of Lights going is a marvel of runic machinery and holy magic. Sheltered in the Godspear Tower in the kingdom’s capital, this technological wonder allows living in the caverns possible.
Tradition 2nd Son Treatment 2nd borns are often purposefully exposed to the blight falling from the sky in order to maximize their exposure and become ascended-- granting the family sustainability. Though the church has publically frowned upon these actions, they continue clandestinely.
Vehicle The Rails of Haverstiech The underground opulence has grown even brighter as the capital welcomes in a revolutionary way to travel. The Kingdom of Lights, sheltered from the demonic blight falling from the sky, spreads across miles and miles of caverns, now welcomes a rune-and-steam powered locomotive.
