Personal history

Desren was born on Pitra (referred to as "The Pit" to those who work or worked there), a heavily industrialized world, where the Galactic Imperium exploited the mineral richness there with abandon. His parents were minor mining overseers, and he was raised with the expectation he would follow in their footsteps. However, as he grew up, he started to doubt the methods and manner of galactic industry. He saw some of its greatest excesses, even as a child, to include executions of workers who attempted to ask questions or make requests of the nobility that ran the mines.
He was six years old when the Manifesto of Galactic Peoples was published initially, and was entering his university years when it surged into the intellectual zeitgeist. It put to words the problems he saw when he was growing up on Pitra, and Desren poured himself into the work. He spent years deeply involved with the secret societies that grew up around the Manifesto, and eventually became a considerable proponent of progressive changes to Imperial policy. By the time the rebellion began, he was a public figure for drastic change, to the point he had to go into hiding. During this exile, he would publish many papers and gather support around him, making him a symbol of the rebellion. It made him the ideal choice for Chancellor of the Senate when it was established in Public Order One.

Education

Desren went to school first on Pitra, a curriculum the nobility of the Galactic Imperium had specifically designed to keep children on Pitra and working there when they got old enough. This did nothing but add to his growing discontent with Pitra, and believed in the greater galaxy and something better outside of the rock he had grown up in.
He was eventually accepted into a university on Melis, much to the resistance of his parents. Desren was eventually able to convince them that they would not be able to stop him from leaving with or without their assistance, when they eventually gave in and supported his education. He majored in Analytical Interplanetary Business, but mostly because he wanted to understand why things were they way they were.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Desren was elected as the first Chancellor of the Senate in 3198 on the establishment of the New Galactic Republic. He had avoided several attempts on his life by the Galactic Imperium to make it to the end of the rebellion and achieve this dream.
