Albeit, Rogue Alchemist are known to share this items in exchange of wealth and influence.   But even if their are not directly involve in the trading of assets such as knowledge and items, they are allowed to have some special treaties with other communities such as the Dragon Hunters of the Council of Witches and Wizards of England, this treaties have been acknowledge by The League and they have some knowledge of what deals are made, but under table agreements are always present complicating relations and prompting investigations.

History

Pre-Institution era
The Alchemy by itself is a practice that has started since civilisation decided to experiment with the laws of nature, the most older records can be found on the Hellenistic Egypt, these practices would then moved to the Ancient Greek, when the first concepts would born here.
The First Institute (VIII Centyry)
The study of the Alchemy would continue just by few individuals, then In the City of Kufa under the control of the Abbasids Caliphate, the first ever Institute of Alchemy would be born, there place would be known as the Tower of Knowledge, its first master was Jabir ibn Hayyan and he would build the core concepts of the Alchemy.   These initial Alchemist were not very well received by the public, often times were accused of dark practices and this would causes great animosity between the mobs and the alchemist, none the less, their knowledge keep then on the eye of the Visasr that allow their practices in exchanged of their services, during this period, it was common for the Alchemist to serve the nobility.
The Great Expansion (XIII Century)
Around this time, the concept and teachings of Alchemist would be getting around Europe and Asia, and would cause the spread of more Alchemist communities on those areas, the result was the born of new and more organise communities.   This moment saw a great expansion of the communities of India and China when they were able to create Elixires capable of healing many illness and other substances such as gunpowder.
The Discovery of the Philosopher's Stone (XV Century)
This would be the total turning point of these organizations, for about 200 years, the search and discovery of the mythical object known as the Philosopher's Stone was the purpose and goal of many Alchemist, one particular Alchemist, John Dee was the first Alchemist to successfully create it.   The Philosopher's Stone is an object that can transmutate with easy most common states of the matter, with the correct Stone, Dee was able to transmutate metals, from iron to copper, to silver and to ultimately gold.   This discovery put on spotlight the Alchemist to the world, primarily on Eastern Europe and England.
The Organizations (XVI Century)
Up to this moment, the Institutes were just small independent bodies that hold little power, but thank to their discovery they were able to gain more influence and power with the high nobles of Europe, in this times the most powerful organizations were born.   The Institute John Dee was the most powerful one, holding with fierce its knowledge of the Philosopher's Stone, this caused great animosity between many others institutes and sabotage and fraud among this communicates was a common practice.   At the end of the era, the well guarded secret of the Philosopher's Stone was at last discovered and many other institutes around Europe decided to create their own, this was the spark that causes the events of the Alchemist Wars.
The Alchemist Wars (XVII Century)
During centuries, the animosity of the institutes across Europe had grown more and more, until the inhabitable end, this was a system of proxy wars, the institutes were not massive organizations, let alone any sort of army, but they were very desirable by the nobility for their abilities to assist on their needs and luxuries, wen two nations would go to war, it was common for some of the institutes to join some band and from that position influence the winning side to dismantle or take powers to the losing institutions.   Sometimes, a band of raiding Alchemist would go to an institute and dealt as much damage as possible, this causes the institutes to create their own defense militia. that caused great advanced on the fields of Damaging Alchemy.
The Nexus (XVIII Century)
By this moment the Alchemist Wars had gotten to an standoff, none institution could gain the upper hands on the others, meanwhile, during all this time, the institutions in the other parts of the world had severely grow, despite not being as advanced, the acquisition of Philosopher's Stones to this societies impulse a great era of discoveries.   All these institutes from the Middle East, India and China were known to have new knowledge of the universe, thanks to "Empire" the institutes had an easy access to these new knowledge while in the process moving the Alchemy Wars to these communities.
The Reformation (XIX Century)
This time saw the definitive end of the Alchemist Wars, by this time, many institutes that survived to constants threats of the past had grown to become respected organization which specialized on a certain area, due to the wide range of different knowledge it was impossible for a single institution to focus on many different studies, the Institutions decided just to focus on their own research and help each other instead, 3 big blocks of collective knowledge were established, Prima Materia, Anima Mundi and Manus Domini Dei.
The Integration (XX/XXI Century)
The Alchemist had a great role on the World Wars, either like researcher for the creation of new destructive components by the case of Rogues Alchemist and the creation of modern medicine. After World War 2 and the born of The League of Heroes, the League decides to catalogue the Institutions as Societies of Super Humans, despite many alchemist being normal humans, by this time the knowledge they had allow then to alter reality itself, by the League this was the primary cause.   In the second half of the XX century the Institutions go in a process of independence, reunification a relocation, some of then are forced to abandoned their current locations due to the instability of some of their home countries, the Institutions would form a single collective to be represented in the world while each having their own authority.

The Three Knowledge

While the alchemist developed new knowledge over the centuries, their many institutions acted as self contain communities all guarded with fierce their knowledge and only giving it if they could have control over then, The Reformation would united then and centralized their collective knowledge and because of this, they decided to categorized and specialized their knowledge into three categories. Prima Materia, the study of the Philosopher Stones. Anima Mundi the study and creation of new component, usually in the form of potion and Manus Domini Dei, the study of the alchemy and its relations to living beings.

Philosopher's Stone (Prima Materia)

The trade mark of the Alchemists, the Philosopher's Stone can changed the physical properties of matter, transforming then into new elements, it can alter their form or expand then to change their state into liquid, solid, or gas. Some Philosopher's Stone have the potential to teleport the matter in space, others can desynchronize the matter and moving it forward or backwards in time. The Stones had a limited amount of uses before they break and/or disintegrate, marking the end of their life time usefulness, bigger stones had longer duration, but the authorities in charged of the distribution of the stones had set a standard size for all stones, they all have the same size and numbers of users depending on which actions are performed.
  • Green: The Basic one, it can only alter the molecules of the matter, changing their form.
  • Blue: In addition to the previous mentioned, this stone can changed the state of an element between solid, liquid and gas.
  • Purple: In addition to the previous mentioned, this stone can changed the state of and element even further into plasma and close to zero absolute solid.
  • Red: This stone can transmute an element into another in terms of atoms.
  • Yellow: This stone can teleport an element in space.
  • Orange: This stone has the same capabilities as the previous one with an extended power.
  • White: This stone can time desynchronize an object, moving it forward and backwards in time.
  • Sun: (White stone with a golden core)This stone can time desynchronize an object even further.
Restricted: The use, acquisition or creation of this stones is prohibited, only the high officials of the College of Alchemist can create and use this stones and even so, they are done under a very restricted and controlled environment, the study of this stones is done mostly for the discovery of new knowledge, any other reason is not allowed.
  • Rainbow:This Stone can desynchronize an object in a different way than the previous ones, instead of moving the object in time, it moves it to a different dimension in and out.
  • Grey: This stone can store the memories of people and potentially transfer then to other people.
  • Black: This stone can alter the fabric of creation, creating a rift in time-space potentially damaging the information of matter, the closest hing to actually creating and destroying matter.

Tergo Manus (Prima Materia)

This is the instrument that allow the Alchemist to use the stones in a more precise, efficient way. The Tergo Manus are a pair of gloves that facilitate the use of the stones, it is compose of one glove, usually leather, that has on its fingertips a thin screen of some special metal, it is usually a conductive metal like copper, silver, gold and platinum. The other glove has several slots for the stones in its backhand, it has about 4 slots to 8, how ever most alchemist prefer to use just rings on which they put the stones. When the alchemist wishes to use a stone it can uses the different screen of metals to indicate how much potency they want to use the stone, being copper a low potency and platinum the strongest and choose a color to determinate the power they want to use.

The Alchemist potions (Anima Mundi)

The Philosopher Stones are the greatest achievement of the institutions but they also focus on the creation of potions, Alchemy was a scientific field that led the way to the modern Chemist field, however, it was also the knowledge that led to the creation of the philosopher Stones. While Prima Materia focuses on the study and use of the Philisopher stones, Anima Mundi is the study of the creation of said elements and how to improve in that while at the same time the study and creation of the Alchemist Potions, powerful component that have effects similar of those of super humans, there may be potion able to melt and element in seconds, to transmute it into something else entirely and other effects. It is said the Alchemy potions are a one time use Philosopher's Stone and while not entirely false, they may hold more interesting effects able to affect living beings. Such is the case of the Dragon Potions widely use by the Dragon Hunters.

The Field of Medicine (Manus Domini Dei)

While the alchemy is a science applied primarily to components and elements, it also delved into the fields of the living, at fist with deadly results, but over the centuries the knowledge would grow and become a field of investigation. while its primary use was to search for ways to heal and cure, it also was the inspiration for the search of new components that could alter the livings at any way. This fields grew with various polemic over the centuries due to its unorthodox and questionable methods, often time getting too close to fields of the unnatural or the heresy such as the resurrection of the living or the search for the Panacea or immortality elixir, which many saw as totally amoral and an insult to the laws of God.   Today this field is still being study in the institute under a more centered and oversight scope, common applications are primarily on the medicine field.

Once the Crusaders collapsed, they Alchemist quickly offered their services to the new remnants of the organization and reestablish their old treaties as before, this time however, the Institutions would have more power over the squabbling little organizations that now did not have the power or influence to demand onto the institutions, they would take this opportunity to obtains some monetary compensations.

The Council of Witches and Wizards of England

In many ways, the Philosopher stones seems to act like magic and Witches and Wizards quickly took noticed of that, they would make contact with the institutions to learn more about then over the centuries, while their contact and interaction was little it was a mere formality. The Institutions would often time trade knowledge with the Witches and Wizards. Once both organizations entered into The League of Heroes they could make their relation more public and go as far as to interchange studies and knowledge under the foresight of The League.
