Nivestra is a world in three parts- three huge, vastly populated continents separated by untamed ocean and different opinions. It’s history is rich with adventure, thrills, horror, romance, intrigue, heartbreak, and many close-up examinations and insights of the mortal condition. With these publications, hopefully present in your local bulletins or newspapers, I hope to reeducate the general public as responsibly as possible, and to reinvigorate in those chosen few souls the thirst for knowledge and the need to understand the greater picture. With no further ado, I hope you all enjoy the first of, hopefully, many future publications. Thank you so much for your time.   Nivestra's first two continents, Cathacia and Syr'Sildis, are newly inhabited and in need of much exploration still. Syr'Sildis is the place of origin of the awakening of all land-dwelling races, the scholars tell us, and so far we have had neither inclination nor reason to doubt them. Cathacia is a verdant expanse, a huge landmass teeming with life in it's many biomes. Located slightly above its' sister continent, it is populated by an astounding number of races. Dwarves, elves, and humans commingle with dragonborn and gnomes, and even the rarer races such as tieflings, genasi, the semi-lycanthropic shifters, and kenku have experienced growth in their populations. The realm is pockmarked with newer settlements and burgeoning towns towards the center and east shores and the occasional city, but the western country is nearly untouched by civilization. Even with its' relatively large occupancy, even the more occupied lands still have pockets of undiscovered lands of varying size.   Contrary to it's slightly larger counterpart, Syr'Sildis is almost entirely mapped out and explored. Here, the dominant races are of the human or part-human varieties. It is a difficult place to live, but kingdoms and governments are much more cemented and have more authority than those in the western lands. Political tensions are at a constant high, and industry here flourishes. The land is rich in precious metals and gems, and as such is the prospect of many a treasure-hunter.... especially those of the winged and scaled variety. They have been experiencing some upset lately however, as the Octairus empire has decided to send preliminary forces into the Savkovian deserts, and rumor has it they are in search of something relating to the ruined city that dwells under its' sands.   Finally, the third continent of our great realm is entirely a mystery. An enormous expanse of veiled shores surrounded by wrecked ships, high reefs, and jutting daggers of rock, the titanic landmass we call The Veiled Lands is, by our estimations, bigger than both of our settled continents combined. All attempts at access or communications with potential life on its' shores has been met with either failure, or complete disaster. In addition to it's natural deterrents, The Veiled Shores also house many creatures of terrible infamy and ghastly power. The sea itself writhes in protest against approaching ships, and strange and mysterious mists and lights, sights and sounds have distracted, entranced, and enchanted all nearby wayfarers to their watery graves, or at the very least to outright disaster. As of the year 1375 of The Twelve, no proposed expeditions to these mysterious, terrible shores have been approved by any authority of any land, and many laws have been passed against traveling within 100 miles of the Veiled Shores. Dor-Algun it is called, and even the meaning of it's present name and its' origins have been lost to antiquity.   I, a humble servant of the Longshadow Archives, hope that this information proves both enlightening to you, but also that it awakens the thirst for knowledge shared by all those who would continue the forward momentum of the ages! Thank you so much for your time, and until next time, I remain-   To The Last, Your Faithful Guide, Artagan De'Velte
