A Note On Evil Gods

According to the main religion of Niria, the evil "gods" are not really gods at all but rather powerful demons, and should not be prayed to. However, clerics, paladins, warlocks, and characters of an evil alignment can pray to them for power just like any other deity. Doing so is not uncommon, considering all the other gods are theoretically dead.   Praying to an evil-aligned deity is considered the first step in a very slippery slope, and such apostasy is usually dealt with swiftly and mercilessly.
