Telegraphy
Magiwave Telegraphy, or Telegraphy, is the use of magiwaves to transmit encoded messages, traditionally using morse code, over long distances. It is the first form of magiwave telecommunication.
Utility
Originally, the dependency on either magiwave crabs or spellcasters with Magiwave Message limited telegraphy's use to short-ranged personal communication. However, innovations to technology and selective breeding slowly improved its range capabilities, and systems were developed to increase the distances messages could reach by relaying them between intermediary settlements.
It is the most wide-spread form of communication in the Sky Ocean.

Access & Availability
Telegraphy is available in almost every island of the Sky Ocean, and it has spread to most settlements in the Wilderness that have any contact with the Sky Ocean.
Discovery
After discovering magiwave crabs were using magiwaves to communicate, wizards attempted to imitate the process to create a spell called Magiwave Message.
The spell mostly saw niche use, utilizing simpler magiwaves to transmit morse code messages. One wizard accidentally aimed an encoded magiwave towards its pet magiwave crab, which responded by tapping its pincers to the same frequency of the morse code in a magiwave. The wizard then successfully trained it to send magiwaves when someone tapped its pincer. After training multiple crabs these behaviors, the wizard had non-spellcasters attempt to send morse code back and forth; this is the first instance of non-magic users telecommunicating.
