Yelldow Wood {English}

Many trees are just trees to you, for others, the trees can be something sacred.
— Everam, Teller of Nimenra
Yelldow Tree are not rare trees in Telamirein or in Marlun and even Nekuram has some in their forests. But to the Worshippers of Rhyn there is a special connection to some of them. That special connection is a spiritual and sensation only Rhyn gives though this tree. For Rhyn's followers, Yelldow trees are a way to connect to Him, a way to feel close to Him and let nature and spirit flow in the world through them.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Yelldow Tree has a bark that has strands of yellow in it, creating a sort of net that runs throughout it. The otherwise pale-brown bark that consists most of the tree is rough and dense. Some have noted that the yellow strands can be seen in the dark, while others have not seen this.

History & Usage

Everyday use

The tree is used in many products, even if distinguished from other trees as a more dense and compact material that is useful for many different areas, like as a building material.

Cultural Significance and Usage

For the Worshippers of Rhyn, many of their wooden materials are made out of this specific wood. Their belief is that Rhyn, the God of Nature, has a special connection to the tree and that spirits prefer to stay and live inside them. While cutting down and using the lumber for buildings is not what they do, they do use it for pipes that they smoke, ritual fires, ceremonial sacrifices and statues and ornaments related to Rhyn. Some older temples that have survived warfare is noted to have been built preferably with Yelldow wood despite what God the temple is dedicated to. Reliona's churches typically has Yelldow wood due to Her relation as sister to Rhyn.
