The Greetings from the West

It is such a strange message to be received before the delegation has even arrived. These strangers from the west are interesting...
— King Wallis Lionhiron
Far from the lands of Nimenra there are other continents that holds foreign beings and people unknown to the Humans and Demons. Few have tried to explore beyond the ocean due to either the warfare of The War for Marlun or exploratory technology for long oceanic voyages simply did not exist on either side of the conflict. Once, however, Fenrik Klovhernsman, a man of Orfordsmen origin in the Kingdom of Ravero's navy, came back of news of another continent and foreign people, things changed. Nimenra was not the only continent anymore. What more was what came several years later after Fenrik sailed his second voyage to the other continent with a added message from another people beyond the west and Nimenra...

Historical Details

History

Nimenra is in all facts a continent among others. The great oceans that separate these landmasses have done so due to the difficulty of navigation at sea, vessels and more importantly; warfare and access to the ocean. Only three known countries on all of Nimenra have access, The Dwarven Kingdom, the Kingdom of Ravero and Nekuram (Later Orfordwhelm have been able to reach the northern shores but have no ports). Few battles have ever taken place on the seas, Nekuram tried a disastrous attempt to go around once and so has Ravero attempted several times. Despite the efforts of great sailors and explorers, the ocean is much harder to tame than any worldly part that Nimenra's inhabitants have faced.
However, in recent years brave captains and equally so navigators, researchers and sailors have tried to reach further and further out of the Great Ocean. Several have aimlessly sailed out and returned, others not. One man and his ships did, Fenrik Klovhernsman was the first explorer in 2415 to ever return from the vast ocean after five years of exploration. The captain retold an unbelievable story about a vast kingdom ruled by humans with other foreign and unique species residing side by side with them. They spook in an equally foreign language and had strange ways and goods that the captain brought back. Only with the help of the foreigners' most intellectual elite did they breach the language barriers to the extent of simple communication. They called themselves Shuwei and with the appearance of the Renvaren explorers, their interests were equally peaked. They too had sent explorers with much greater success but never farther than their own continent and to their north and west. No one that took their vessels east came back or did so with little news unrelated to such a great continent like Nimenra.
This created fear amongst the Renvaren court. This kingdom was described as an empire by the captain, a name that only once has been used to describe theories or the once-great Kingdom of Kyrkas. The Chancellor was frightful of what would happen to Ravero and at large, Nimenra if the contact was to continue. The King of Ravero, Wallis Lionhiron, however, was more optimistic. As the king could overrule the court at the time, he decided to send another fleet with no hostile intent, only to open affairs and relations with the Shuwei as they seemed equally curious about them. What the king could not predict was when Fenrik would come home again after his second voyage in 2537 with an added company and not only just before their arrival, receive a message ten days prior to the sails arriving in the port.

I love exploration to parts unknown! I'm really interested in learning more about these other humans and the species that live among them.
