The Forest of Stone Spires

It is a fascinating wonder. How such a danger to all of us can create something so... beautiful and emotional. I looked around, wondering if we could see it as such or if it will forever remind us of the shadow we live under.
— Everam, Teller of Nimenra
To the west of Israk Forest stands a odd wonder of nature created by the lava-spewing mountain Israk. A forest of black stone spires that have all been launched by the mountain from its inner core, or perhaps by the Gods. Around 250 spires have been thrust into the ground by the forces of nature, standing from as short as four meters to as tall as ten. What is odder about these is that on most of them a tree grows out of them that stretches out and up to the sky. These "climbing trees" somehow are either created by nature itself or someone has over time planted them on top of the spires.

Geography

As one encounters the "forest" one will notice the lack of what one will find in a forest, trees. Instead one needs to look up and they will find the trees standing upon spires of dark stone that have over time been cast out of Israk, the volcano northeast of The Forest of Stone Spires. The area around the spires has patches of grass and bushes. Most of the area is still rather barren compared to Israk Forest which it stands so close to. A few smaller rivers do flow in between spires from the mountain chain in the north and merge with the great river that flows further south.

Fantastic forest

The stone spires are exceptionally impressive for nothing alike can be found anywhere else. The sight of them inspires wonder and fear for how they once got there and that all of them have fallen in the same location. Perhaps there are forces at play that one can only explain with knowledge that is less accepted. In any way, it is for faraway locals a sightseeing attraction that people go to see. Just seeing the trees for far away alerts one's mind to adventure.

It is a spectacle to see it! The stones all jut out at different angles from the ground, and the trees, the trees that are all growing on top of many of them, it is indescribable!

I want to thank a friend who gave me this great idea for a natural wonder, Godsfavorme! Thanks for the idea!
Any feedback on this is welcome, especially on how to give more of a description of how the "forest" looks.
