Prince Súrr's flute
Sometimes you find the most interest in the mundane.— Everam, Teller of Nimenra
Prince Súrr was known as the last prince of the Kingdom of Kyrkas, a meer eleven years old when he was crowned king and reigned for five weeks in the Hopeless War. The flute is what remains of him and the crown family of his time since the capital was looted, leaving only this wooden relic behind for its people to remember their glory days.
Apperance
The small flute is made out of a medium-weight wood, possibly Red Willowtree, and the size for a small child to use. It is adorned with writing the "to my son" at the bottom end and might have possibly had more intricate details if made during another age of Kyrka's existence. It is simple for a prince's toy with that in mind. It has been broken in two for as long as everyone can remember. Today it can be found kept inside a simple stone box that is located in the former capital of Kyrkas, Surthem.
Origin and history
According to the oral history between the people of Kyrkas, the flute was an eight birthday present from the king Ivarek III to his son Súrr. Ivarek was much more caring for his only son and was said to be so more than any other king before him. He asked his son to play for him in court during times of high stress for him and his peers. The flute saw much use later when Kyrkas saw war against Orfordwhelm. Súrr would play long into the evenings hoping for his father's and mother's safe return until one day the news came that they were gone. Súrr did not play on the flute a single tune afterwards up until the capital was breached by Orfordian forces, where his tune was heard one last time before he was killed as the last ruler of Kyrkas.

Sorrow does not fill my heart when I look upon this. I find myself even more uncaring when I hear the history behind it... What help I could have provided was better elsewhere.
