Piléar Sinsear

The once Space Station found off the western coast of Gleann Blathànna.   It's impact created a crater so big as to be clearly visible from space in what should've been a mass extinction event inducing catastrophe, however, no such thing happened and the crash had virtually zero effect on the planet's ecosystems, seemingly contained only to the coast it impacted.   The damage on the upper right side of the station is also incostintant with the type of crash it endured, suggesting the damage came from the center towards the exterior.   The damage also seems to have altered the shape of the structure itself, bending it in unnatural shapes without either tearing into it nor melting it, the section that was hit was never found.   Two main Hypothesis on the crash have been formulated over the years:
  • The first one is that the missing sector somehow detatched from the body of the structure after a large scale impact and it went flying towards the surface where it still remains to be found, the body would try to regenerate but without the Exomatter core it couldn't so it left it in this partial renewal state.
  •
  • The second Hypothesis is that an instability in the Exomatter core released it and it consumed the missing section before being terminated, however seen how Exomatter propagates and at the speed it does so, it would remain unanswered why it only spread to one section instead of quickly engulfing the whole space station.

Purpose / Function

The structure was conceived as a space station orbiting the planet of Nijin-Konai, perhaps linking the planet to the rest of the empire or acting as a trade center for incoming crafts.   Other smaller Precursor satellites are still in orbit to this day, seemingly used as cultural centres.

Architecture

The structure is composed of two main rings, the largest one is adorned with colourful patterns and has what seem to be panels on the outside of unknown usage.   A single line runs across the structure, giving off a faint purple glow at night, the colour changes sometimes.   The second ring is connected to the first through many cylindrical arms, it has a similar glow producing band along its surface and had eight smaller arms coming out of it facing the centre, only seven of which visible to this day.   The centre area it is thought once held a massive Exomatter nucleus which was either consumed or terminated at some point before the crash.   An artist's rendering on how the structure might have looked like before the crash.

History

Due to the size of both the structure and the Crater, the landmark was first spotted in space, when approaching the planet for the first time and since then attracted all sort of attention aimed at studying and accessing the structure.   For centuries humanity tried to breach the barrier surrounding the structure with no avail, reportedly the Gleann Blathànna military launched a heavy missile strike against the shield to try and damage it only to have it absorb the missiles, using them to power itself even further.   Since the funding of The Deshivohai Independent Government, the waters surrounding the crater have been opened up to a point to Human navigation, revealing a mysterious phenomenon to this day remaining unexplained.   The waters surrounding the crater are very rich in Anomalous Lazarus taxa, meaning animals that went extinct millions of years ago, yet they can still be found there, no matter the geographic origin.   Precursor technology is certainly a contributing factor to this phenomenon but how this is happening or why these animals are not leaving the crater remains unknown.
