Night City

Night City isn't a place. For most, it's a state of mind. It's the dirty, corrupt, hidden part of life that we keep secret and keep in the dark, daring only to indulge in when the sun goes down and the freaks come out. It's the shy nerd trying to be a rebel as she dresses like a punk and drops acid at a rave. It's the priest servicing strangers at his favourite tea room. It's the pillar of the community, the respectable father and charity worker, hiding the body of his latest victim. Big or small, it's the sin and shame we assume for ourselves, whether it's given by others or not.   Then there are the others. These are true freaks for whom Night City is a state of being. They're the vampire, the werewolf, the ghoul usually viewed as only being part of myth and legend. They're the alien, the mutant, the cyborg stepping from the pages of science fiction. They're the cultist summoning a vile demon, the crazed scientist stitching their beast together from parts taken from the dead, the succubus drinking the essence of those she seduces. In Night City, the true freaks find their strength. In the daylight, should they be discovered, their life would be measured in mere heartbeats.   Our story begins in the United Kingdom, in the city of Bradford. Players will take the role of true freaks and may design their characters as they wish. Given the nature of the game, player character death is entirely possible from session 1 onwards. Any player whose character dies will be permitted to have a replacement character introduced in the next session. When creating characters, players should consider WHY their character would a) be willing to risk themselves for others and b) work as a member of the group. Dark characters are expected but this is a group RPG.
