Ni

Hello, three-dimensional reader. I am what the 3D beings of the planet Ni call a god or a monster, or a "What the hell is that thing???". I have traveled all the way from that planet to tell the people of Earth about the people of Ni. It’s something I’m very interested in— their cultures and languages and religions and wars… I’m sort of the four-dimensional version of what you’d call a micro-bio-anthropologist. My people exist in the fourth dimension of Ni, but nobody there is interested in my stories about the 3D people, so I’ve come to Earth to communicate them to you. I’ve crafted this experience of you reading a website so as not to overwhelm you, and even your small wet brain will be able to make up memories of clicking on a link or whatever. Oh! I’ve been so rude. It’s weird communicating linearly like this. Allow me to introduce myself. My true name is unfortunately (and totally coincidentally) a series of electrical impulses that would make the human brain feel like its arm was being cut off, but you can call me Kent.   Ni is a planet much like yours. It orbits a sun. It has a moon. It has mountains and valleys, deserts and jungles, grasslands and pine forests (well, not pine exactly, but you get the idea). The big difference is that there are folks like me floating around through it, sort of inside and outside the three-dimensional world simultaneously. Don’t worry, you’re not going to get it. The people there don’t really either. It doesn’t matter.   There are actually two types of what you’d call people on Ni’s three-dimensional plane. I call them the Sky People and the Sea People. The Sky People get their name from the fact that they fly, and the Sea People get their name from the fact that they are semi-aquatic.   You might liken a Sky Person to a marsupial bat that walks on all fours and has two elephant trunks. You'd be getting a lot of smaller details wrong, but you'd be in the right ball field (is that an expression?). Sea People are shaped more like you, in that they walk upright on two legs. Of course, they also have green skin, have to stay wet to survive, and communicate through a visual language by changing the colors of their faces at will, so maybe they're not super like you.   Anyway, come check out my tales. Learn about why nobody on Ni has a problem smelling things when they're sick, or about the kinds of architecture my kind helped those people make a long time ago.
