Autumn Lunar Festival

Lunar Festivals are celebrations that happen every full moon but none is so grand and so popular as the Autumn Lunar Festival. They are generally associated with good food, good drinks as it is said that no one should ever starve on a full moon. A lot of taverns and street shop also try new fancy recipies for these kinds of nights and invite anyone to come and try them.   The autumn big festival is marking the first preparations for the upcoming winter. It is the time where the entire extended family should get together for one big meal in the evening, talk about the year they had, share their successes and grievances, meet the relatives they don't really have the chance to speak much and start preparing and making plans for the harsh winter times. It is probably the most popular holiday in the kingdom, filled with delicious food and great stories to tell. The best way to describe the autumn lunar festival is that is should feel like a good warm hug that smells like cinnamon.   Other than food, other activities associated with this festivals are long walks under the moonlight and lighting up lanterns in various different shapes and colours and sizes. Many people make lanterns that symbolise something people would like to attract in the next year, when spring comes. The crescent shapes are for example associated with wanting to find a soulmate, because if you hang up a lantern like that, you are giving the sign to the heavens that you are ready to find the other half that would complete you.   It is also said that if you hear wolves howl at the moon during the festival, you should reply to them with your own awoooo to bring luck and happiness into your life.
