New Atlantia

The gods of the old world were jealous of the wealth and power Atlantis had acquired through trade. They planned to smite the entire city, but the Atlanteans were not hopeless as one of their elders had the power of further sight. The group of elders known as the council decided to use an experimental and dangerous process of science they had been working on for decades.   Zeus prepared his strike upon Atlantis but as he raised his arm the city vanished with a flash of static energy and heat. The elders had only planned to transport the city to a place beyond the reach of the gods. They could not think of a place quick enough and decided to leave it up to fate. If they did not try it then they would have died anyway.
