New Angeles

A city surrounded by badlands, New Angeles is the sole remaining bastion of the once great region known as Southern California. What was once a promising city has devolved into a cesspool of corruption and debauchery. Controlled politically by massive corporations, the streets are filled with merciless android policemen known as Peacekeepers. Less concerned with real crime than the preservation of company assets, most offenses are turned a blind eye by these robotic corporate slaves. Those who don't work for the corporations live by selling knockoff cybernetics or pick-pocketing passersby. Those who live more virtuous lives run small resistance groups, but these rarely get off the ground.
