Emu

The threat against humanity

Written by Endrise

They really never stood a chance, those humans. At least they now know their place on the food chain and we finally get proper meals!
— Sir Emuton III

Emus are a dangerous and lethal predator amongst the destroyed lands of Earth. After the Second Emu War led to Australia's human population being completely wiped off the map, mankind had but no choice to surrender to the Emu overlords... Or so they thought.

After some argueing about ethics and "why humans should not be kept as lifestock for the emus", the world was able to convince the emu population to simply join the EU as a last resort to appease their lust for power. Ever since, they have been quiet... For now.

Hunting Humans

Thing is, even a few decades after the war ended, their war hunger has made them still a threatening force to reckon with, especially on the mystical barren lands of Australia. Although most of the population was wiped away, it seems some records have shown a dwindling population of human tribes trying to survive between the Emus, against all foolish attempt to surpress the Emu Overlords.

As such, the Emus like to taunt and torture their prey, often seeking out Human tribes to consume on their flesh and children whenever they please. Even though their intelligence makes them now capable of making their own civilisations, their primal predator instincts just like screwing with human lives.

Luckily, they all fall asleep during the night, making the few tribes that survive from their daily onslaughts able to migrate across the Australian outback, only to hide in any cave they might deem safe enough against the Emus.

Defeating an Emu

If you considering trying to fight an Emu yourself, please reconsider. Not only are they one of the most effective apex predators of Australia with a 98.75% success rate, many can run up to 30 miles per hour with relative ease, which even with cybernetics from Neo Megacorps will easily get close enough.

Secondly, once they capture you, they like to peck at your skull to crack it open like a nut, eating the brains first because they consider it a delicacy. Hard hats won't work either, because they are smart enough to remove those first before cracking.

So either avoid Australia, or go on one of the optional vacation options available to the public. There, the fatality rate drops only to about 51.25%.

This world reminds me so much of Megacorpolis, so I'm legally obliged to enjoy it :D Fortunately, I do!

Sadly Neo Megacorps have put a copyright on "enjoying things", hence you now have to pay them copyright licenses or be taken to court.   But thanks anyways!
