Lance comes from a large family of climate refugees who fled their native island and settled in Neo-Metropolis many years before his birth. His mother’s older brother, a mustachioed man named Pedro, is an infamous drug lord whose much-feared and highly organized cartel supplies a sizable part of the city’s drug market. Although Lance’s parents do not dabble in the drug trade, his two older brothers, Luis and Marco, work for their uncle’s business as lieutenants.

Motivation
Lance’s personality is complex; he can be very egoistical, cocky, confrontational, and arrogant at times. At other times, however, he is friendly, kind, reflective, and even shows great intelligence. Although the boss of his small team, he is usually the first to make light of a delicate situation, either by joking around or flirting. His friendly and outgoing personality allows him to connect to all of his teammates despite their many differences, but it also acts as a double-edged sword, as his rivals do not take him seriously for that very reason. Behind his free-spirited façade, he is sensitive, self-conscious, and distant at times when his friends are not around or when his guard is lowered. He has no qualm about admitting to himself that he is too soft-hearted and not cut out for a life of crime.
