Harmless Winterberry Material in Necumia | World Anvil

Harmless Winterberry

Don't let the name fool you. It's anything but harmless - Anonymous
This is a plant that contains a special, dangerous kind of smoke that is used for evil.

Properties

Material Characteristics

It looks like a dark green vine with blue berries which contains dark purple smoke.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The vine itself is harmless but the berries are the real deal. The smoke feels like water vapor and after someone opens the berry, the smoke starts to come towards people. After a minute or so it starts to take ‘control’ of the person who it interacts with. This sensation lasts for a few minutes.

Geology & Geography

It's located in a cave called The Grave Cavity found in Almagrecia. They like to hide in dark places and very deep underground. Only a few are grown there which makes them extremely rare to find. After 30 years of exploring the cave only 3 of them were found.

History & Usage

History

When they first got it they found out about its special abilities and wanted to use it for evil purposes. They tried to figure out how to make it last longer for a few years before figuring it out while also testing if it can be used to turn people against each other.   They then made a technology for that purpose. They tested it and it worked but they unfortunately found the smoke was a one time use. Since it was so rare, they knew it wouldn’t be a common use tech.
