Emberborne "Emby" Fjoer

Description

Emby is tall, broad and toned, the product of a rigorous training regime. Traditionally shunning clothes except the bare minimum for modern society, he coats his dark skin in a grease that gives his body a sheen. He keeps his hair short, nails trimmed and skin rubbed down every morning with a pumice stone. The only jewelry he wears is a piece of porous stone held by a band of leather he wears around his neck. Emby’s large and muscular form veils his often relaxed approach to life as someone who easily smiles and easily forgives.

Personality

Emby's happy-go-lucky to the extreme though prone to introspection. He's rarely still, prefering physical activity over sitting in contemplation, except during meditation. He struggles with communication, never quite finding the right words in written or oral form. As he wears his emotions on his sleeves and speaks before thinking, most people believe him to be oafish, but Emby is actually quite emotionally intelligent.

History

Emby's parents, also members of the Fiedan's Fire Drinkers, died when he was only a baby. The rest of the Fire Drinkers raised him and celebrated when his magic came through. Now he's a fully-fledged, though youngest, member of the mercenary band.

Relationships

Emby is, of course, very close to his mercenary group. They raised him, they're his family.
Because he's an orphan, Whisp has adopted him as a cousin. When they were children, Whisp used to sell toy dogs and Emby was his best repeat customer.
As a member of the Fiedan's Fire Drinkers, Emby is at odds with the The Thert Chillers. This is a contractual obligation rather than actually disliking them.
He teaches Rhiannon Veleda's how to fight, inadvertantly saving her life many times.
