The World of Naxasius

A low-fantasy world set in the D&D universe and seen from the players in a 'medieval'-period. Magic is rare and in some cases forbidden and seen as witchcraft. The Gods, Deities and other powerful prophets are real and believed they walked this world as short as a 1000 years ago. Some believe they even visit our material plane from time to time.  

Core assumptions

Gods Oversee the World: The Gods are real, they exists and shaped the world known today. Some believe they come to the material plane when summoned or needed.   The world is new: Vast untamed land is every around us. There are many cities and towns and in some rare cases metropolises scattered around the world. Each one mostly dominated by one race. But outside their borders there is nothing but unforgiving wild regions filled with monsters, dragons and barbarian outsiders.   Magic is rare: Magic is rare and often dangerous. There are studies for magic and magic is not illegal but most (common) folk will shy away from it when used in their presence.    

OLD ---

Flags with colors of feast are hanging over the town square and balconies are filled with bright flowers. There are merchants behind market stalls shouting and selling goods, groups of musicians along the town road are playing their best songs and folk of all races are dancing happily together.   Today is the 5th anniversary of The First Harvest, a day to celebrate the first harvest of the season in dedication of The Council of Guardians.   On this day farmers, fishers, hunters and merchants from all over are gathering in villages and big towns to drink, to feast and to sell the their first harvest of the year.   Your adventure starts in Chesterfield. Chesterfield is a small village on the southern border of Griffinton. It is known for its export of coal, copper and iron. But today nobody is working in their mines. Today is a day of feast, drinks and good food!
