Kinichau
There are five known forms of magic: Gale, Rain, Lightning, Frost, and Storm (a combination of the others). There is also the magic of the Ocean, shunned by the civilized world.
Legend tells of another.
Many ancient texts and stories tell of a floating city, Kinichau. Its people derived their power from the sun, and with that power left the whole world in wonder and fear. Supposedly, the isles of glass were once deserts, the sand melted by the city's magical superweapon. They took tribute in the form of gold and hostages from every kingdom and empire, sacrificing their captives atop the city's pyramids. So bloodthirsty were they that those below would look up to see a torrential red rain, glistening in the sunlight.
Yet despite their power, the city hasn't been seen in almost two millennia, leading some to doubt if it ever existed.
Government
According to ancient sources, the city was a theocratic monarchy, governed by the Sun King, a powerful mage and personal representative of Huitzil, the Kinichan sun god.
Defences
The most devastating weapon in the city's possession was the Arrow of Huitzil, a magical device capable of firing a massive bolt of energy, able to boil the sea and sink islands.
Assets
Legend has it that the center of the city was filled with the gold and treasure of all the nations, taken as tribute when the city terrorized the world.
Architecture
Kinichau was supposedly a collection of gold-plated stone pyramids, connected by a labyrinth of causeways and smaller buildings.
