A Colony of Outcasts

Jacksweir is home to those cast out and disowned by their families. The large majority of its population is Notaran like the town founder Jackan Slythe, but there is also a large population of Halflings as surely Jackan regrets not being able to save his own half Notaran half Solaran child. There is a single family of Solaran outcasts which Jackan allowed into the community knowing their perspective would be important for the sustainability of the colony. Jacksweir is unlike much of the segregated population on the continent of Notare's throat and benefit for it.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The primary species at Jacksweir are outcasts of Notaran descent. Notarans are humanoid in shape, bipedal with two arms, but covered head to toe in scales of varying patterns. Notarans average seven feet tall and generally fill out on the thinner side in terms of musculature.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Notaran species reproduces through oviposition.

Growth Rate & Stages

Notarans mature within three years and live to be an average of one-hundred and fifty years old.

Ecology and Habitats

Notaran's generally thrive in communities near water. They are omnivores and those living at Jacksweir have come to rely on the discovered element malletal for resources.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Notaran species swallows its food whole, unhinging its jaw if necessary.

Biological Cycle

The Notaran's shed once per lunar year and are at their most vulnerable just before shedding and strongest just after.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Notarans are exceptionally athletic and natural swimmers, being able to breathe under water. They are also able to manipulate their bodies kinetic energy and mass distribution as effective defense from physical injury. The Notarans fangs are capable of delivering a toxin that can do anything from localized numbing to death depending on the concentration of delivery.

Conservation Status

The entire Notaran species is constantly under threat from the Solarans whom live on flying cities in the sky and attack from the air.
