Antimetal
Properties
Material Characteristics
Antimetal is a special type of rocky material that looks identical to iron ore as it naturally occurs, but takes on a light blueish hue when smelted. Rarely, It naturally occurs as blue or purple crystal.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Antimetal's namesake comes from its unique properties. When smelted, a chemical reaction occurs within the metal, altering its composition. This new composition radiates a field similar to a magnetic field. When metals come within range of this field, the bonds between their molecular structure weakens, giving most metals the consistency of butter.
The extremely rare crystalline form does not have this property. However, if crystalline antimetal absorbs a large amount of electrical energy, it will temporarily destabilize into a translucent gateway between Nativis and the Abyssal Plane. This state only lasts for a short period of time as excess energy is radiated as light and heat.
Life & Expiration
Over long periods of time, the fields given off by the metal firm of the material can weaken or shrink in size.
