Marko, god of The Hunt

Marko has been described as a god of nature, but also represents persistence, collaboration, strength and beauty. His followers strive to be bright, witty and easy to get along with, and have been accused of being proud, shallow, or obsessed with material gain.

Many knights and rangers are “hunters”, and Marko generally has the largest following of the four thanks to the easy-going nature of the religious laws, hence why hunters have few enemies. Priests rarely admonish anyone for anything, more often giving advice on defeating challenges, becoming stronger or appreciating beauty. Marko teaches that the world is yours for the taking; if you follow the rules of the hunt you will be successful. Many of his followers have a “look after number one” approach to life, and will betray easily the people who hours earlier they called friends.

Divine Domains

Persistance, collaboration, strength, beauty, nature. The North, the hunt, animals.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

A flying arrow, or in some more nature-centric factions, a clawed paw.

Tenets of Faith

The followers of Marko (who sometimes refer to themselves as the hunters, or blessed hunters) have very few rituals, as they consider the act of teamwork to be sacred, and will whisper a prayer upon a success. They think it is important to be physically capable, as they believe the body should always be able and ready to hunt and fight. Healthiness and physical form is spiritually important, and occasionally the sick, disfigured or disabled are cast out of communities because of their apparent “impurity”. Soldiers who follow Marko have been known to go mad when they can no longer fight, sometimes by divine will.
