Primordial Deities

Those who came before

Sitting atop all of creation are the Four Primordial Deities, ruling forces of the universe. They are the sisters Solaris and Lunaris, and the brothers Aetherius and Naminus.   They control and embody aspects such as time, space, night, day, life and death. Together, they gave birth to the eight First Children, the deities that would eventually create the world of Namyria and all of its surrounding planes. For this purpose, the Primordials would become the cogs and systems that allow creation to exist.

The Primordials

Naminus

The embodiment of time and entropy. Once the strongest of the Primordials, he was forced into a deep slumber, and now sleeps at the core of Namyria, as the key element of existence. Should he ever awaken, he will undo all of creation and seize the universe from the other deities.

Solaris

The embodiment of light and life. She created the Cycle of Life And Death, a system she and her sister use to keep Naminus asleep. She is the sun that guards the sky, the bringer of life, and the one who fights those who would awaken him through foul Necromancy or abuses of the cycle.

Lunaris

The embodiment of darkness and death. She is the moon that dances in the sky alongside her sister to rock Nominus in his cradle, keeping the Cycle of Life And Death, she is keeper of the souls of the dead, bringer of tides, and the one tasked with fighting those who would extend their life through unnatural means.

Aetherius

The embodiment of space and silence. He contains the entirety his brother's prison, Namyria, along with the sisters Solaris and Lunaris, and the planes the First Children created and reside in. He watches over the universe, searching for those who might become too loud and powerful, and could risk awakening Naminus, and casts them out of reality, sending them to reaches unknown.

The First Children

Before the time of creation, the primordials partnered up freely, sharing a deep, communal love between each other. Out of their communion, eight deities were born. Each had four children, in pairs, with two other primordials. Solaris had two children with Naminus and two with Aetherius, as did Lunaris. These deities would later come to be known as the First Children.   The following table illustrates the genealogy of the First Children.

The Primordials and their Children

This table lists the parent-child relationships of the Primordial Deities and the First Children.

Creation of Namyria

For an infinite amount of time before creation, Naminus sat at the throne of the Primordials, seeking to unmake any single instance of creation his pairs or descendants would make. Thus, a trillion trillion worlds were annihilated under his thumb. That is, until the First Children grew tired of his hatred of creation, so they asked Solaris, Lunaris and Aetherius to put Naminus to sleep, and allow for creation to occur.   Aetherius talked his brother to sleep, and hid him within himself. There, the sisters Solaris and Lunaris began the Dance of Life And Death, a complex system designed to keep Naminus asleep for all eternity. Following that, the First Children encased him in layer after layer of creation, creating the world of Namyria as his prison, on top of which life exists to this day.

Current Roles

Naminus sits at the core of creation, as the Wheel that Makes Time Turn. This is so thanks to Solaris and Lunaris, who keep the flow of the souls of mortals in the Cycle of Life And Death, keeping the wheel turning, as well as protect the land for any interference or noise that might awaken Naminus and bring forth his rage and destruction. Aetherius, the Void of space that contains all of reality, is tasked with guarding the world from any such entities that gain too much power, and in case he cannot contain them, he exiles them outside of creation.
Windstar
The four primordial deities, as shown in the windstar of most maps in Namyria. It shows Solaris (the sun) and Lunaris (the moon), surrounded by the void (the large circle), all encompasing the small circle at the center, Naminus. The full structure is held together by the the eight First Children (the spikes).
