Monastery of Stone
Located a few hours from Sujuko Mura, just outside the valley containing the village, is the Monastery of Stone. It's a surprisingly large compound, housing some 50 monks behind its ancient, moss-covered stone walls. The monks grow their own food and the village provides for their other necessities.
The monastery holds no services for outsiders, but the monks tend to the shrine in Sujuko Mura and are always available to serve the villagers' spiritual needs. The abbot, Suguru , is a respected voice in the village and his counsel has done much to ease the rising tensions there.
