Mayor Lothar Siegbald Sanbin
Lothar Sanbin is the Gnomish owner of the Brass Dragon Inn, and also the elected Mayor of Tubridge.
He has owned 'The Dragon' for the last eighty-five years. The local story, one he does not deny, is that he won it from the previous owner in a game of Five Kings.
He is married to Ishilde, and they have two children, Wendelina, and Rinus.
He is generally well liked by most people in the town, hence being elected to the Town Council for the last twenty-eight years, and Mayor for the last eighteen. He is also one of the oldest inhabitants of the town due to gnomes long lifespans. He was already an adult when most of the current human population's grandparents were children. As such he knows every one of the town's natives very well making him well suited to help fix their problems and disputes.
As gnomes are often drawn to tinkering, so too with Lothar. He has a small workshop set up in the beer cellar of the inn. He doesn't get as much time to spend tinkering as he would like, but he is hoping that soon his son Rinus will take over the main job of running the inn. Giving him the chance to enter a semi-retirement.
Physical Description
Facial Features
Lothar suffers from a little nearsightedness and so wears his corrective goggles, usually on top of his head, at all times. Due to him keeping them on top of his head rather than his nose, he has a tendency to squint at people.
Apparel & Accessories
He wears an apron at all times, sometimes with a beer rag tucked in the belt, sometimes with tinkers tools hooked in the pockets, often both. The apron is always meticulously clean, mostly due to the efforts of Ishilde.

Education
He was educated in the same schoolhouse that still exists in Tubridge more than a hundred years later. At school, he excelled at math and logic problems.
Employment
After finishing school he worked with in his fathers repair business in Tubridge but at the age of thirty he came into posession the Brass Dragon Inn and has been running it ever since.
Personality Characteristics
Likes & Dislikes
Lothar loves games of strategy and logic, especially his favourite, Five Kings, but finds games of pure chance distasteful, and dismisses them as 'just the will of the gods'. When discovering a new game he will dissect it completely seeking to understand everything about it.
He keeps one standard set of Five Kings behind the bar for the use of patrons in the Inn but has a beautifully crafted extended set in his private chambers for his own use.

Family Ties
He has one sister, Toos who runs the family repair shop in Tubridge and looks after their ageing mother Floort their father Mert having died five years ago.
There are also more extended family in and around the Hwyn area although he has not been able to visit them in many years due to his responsibilities in Tubridge. It is another thing he would like to do when he retires.
Religious Views
Although he is not overtly religious, Lothar keeps a small shrine to Saint Godred the Reveller behind the bar of the inn, along with a small metal plaque portraying the two beer tankards of Garna above the main entrance to the inn.
Speech
Although his voice is quite high pitched and a little nasal, like most gnomes, it is not enough to become annoying to non-gnomes.
