House of Echion
One of the most prestigious houses in The Hundred Houses of the Spartoi, named for one of the five original Spartoi an existing continuously since the founding of Kadmeia by Kadmos the Founder.
Kreon and Eurydike are the current Lord and Lady of House Echion, while Queen Jokaste, sister to Kreon, is a former member. Through King Pentheus, a former Lord of House Echion many generations removed, each successive Lord of House Echion has had a tenuous claim on the throne of the Kingdom of Thebai, and in fact, Kreon served as an interim king between the reigns of Laios and Oidipous.

A household within the Citadel of Kalydnus and an estate in the lowlands.
History
Echion married a daughter of Kadmos and Harmonia and has, in King Pentheus, the only Spartoi to have made a claim on the Theban throne.
Religion
Ares is the patron daimon of the Oikos.
