Forest of Tombs

Geography

The Forest At first glance the forest looks benign enough, and if not for the local's warnings one might not realize the very real danger that lurkes within in. The trees are tall and strong, and to all appearances healthy.   It is not until you reach deeper corners of the forest that things start to change. The trees grow closer together, the bark taking on a grey palor. Not long after the random encounter the party begins seeing the magic pools, it starts as small puddles, barely a foot in diameter and smooth as a looking glass. The longer you walk the bigger the pools get until there is only a few precarious feet between them to walk upon.   You then start to notice the crysals. They grow in clumps around the pools, crawling over the ground and up the sides of trees leaving them greyed out and dead.   Upon closer inspection, some of these crystals aren't crystals at all, they are tombs. Small creatures are frozen in time, stuck in their tomb-shards.   The Maze   The forest grows thicker the closer you get to the lake, it reaches all the way to the very edges of the lake with no room to land a flying mount, nor navigate with a land mount. The blight infested forest does not allow anyone to pass easily. The trees and grond cover twist around eachother bizarly, confusing any who walk under their branches.   Light doesn't filter down through the spindly grey branches like it should, and glancing up reveals the tangled knots of the limbs stretching out above you. What light there is comes from the magic pools. You're not sure when it happened, but the pools and crystals are burning, the hot fire lapping at the mirrored surface.   The smaller, prey animals cannot be found within the blighted sections of the forest, but that doesn't mean it's empty. You can hear growing, and echoey howls wind through the trees. Twigs crack and the air is filled with the low hiss and crackle of the magic fires.   The Lake

Magic Pools

You have found a magic pool and got the smart idea to dip your things in it...what happens next?
If the item is previously enchanted you must roll a 20 or the item looses it's enchantment.

RollConsequence
1the magic pool explodes, your item is just gone and you and all your items now have liquid magic on them. Roll for each item, and take 1d4 damage each turn until you have washed it off
2-5the item catches fire. If you are wearing it take 1d10 damage each turn until the flame is put out
6-8the item tries to kill you
9-11the item discintigrates
12-13The item is filled with holes and is falling apart.
14The item now has a mild curse on it (example: It narrates all your movements, it muffles your voice so all your spells are duds)
15Your item changes color (the color of the pool)
16-18The item now has a mild charm on it, (example: cloak of billowing, Jewel of sparkling)
19This is now a fairly good magical item (example: Sword+2, Fire arrows, boots of stealth)
20Your item is now an epic rare magical item
