A Great and Tragic Loss

General Summary

When Linthril finally rejoins the rest of the crew back onboard the ship she realizes just what everyone has been telling her. Olivia isn't with them. She's still back in that storm of monstrous creatures. Yara is convinced she's dead. But Lila isn't as convinced. She wants to go back and check. But Ravrin is not getting any better and seriously what's the chance that Olivia wasn't actually eaten. While everyone was arguing over what to do they were shocked when something much larger than the Wyvern sitting on the deck of the ship, flew over them, casting the entire surrounding area into shadow. They watch in shock and horror as the dragon...that's an actual dragon...disappeared into the distance. Just a few powerful beats of it's golden wings carrying it out of sight. A few moments later the realization dawns...it's heading into the Deinqeth. Now Yara was even more convinced that their former companion is actual dead. Even if the Wyvern didn't eat her...that thing will. So she does the only thing she can think to do, the only thing that makes any sense at all...she holds a fueral....Wood Elf Style. Wood elves, when a loved one passes on, will carry them to the tops of the trees and lay them out on a platform. Then they burn the body and send the soul into the after life. Yara has no body to burn though, so she seeks out the next best thing, Olivia's most precious possession. Which she identifies as the prayer book she'd...left...with Yara months back. That'll do. Meanwhile, Lyonette and Lila decide they have to at least try to find Olivia. So they hop onto the back of their new flying mount and head back the way they came. It quickly becomes apparent that this is not going to be as easy as they thought it would. Everything looks the same from up here, and they have no idea where they're supposed to look. On top of that, all the wyvern have...disappeared. They search for as long as they can, but there's just no sign of Olivia. With heavy hearts they head back to the rest of the group. What they do not know is that Olivia is very much alive. She and Charles met a very interesting character, a young gold dragon who finds them ...a bit squicky. But when he learns that little Charles is sick he agrees to help them. The dragon gives them no real time to realize what's going on before he grabs Olivia around the middle lifting her effortlessly off the plateau and winging off, heading inland.
