Lylion Family

(Tell us about a famous family or dynasty in your world!) The Lylion Family is one of the longest-running families to live in Myranelynia. The family has lived before the War of the Islands and has their hands in many parts of the island. They reside in the northmost city of Earthein, Northentong, and their main business is growing and maintaining the island's local flowers -  a special kind of lily native only to Myranelynia.

Public Agenda

The Lylion Family pride themselves in their work with their lilies and assure that quality lilies are provided to each customer for each event. and since growing a small bed of lilies is a coming of age task, they have a plot of land Eartheins can go to grow their own bed to prove their ready and capable adults.

Territories

The Lylion Family owns an old house that sits near the coast in the city Northentong. it's belonged to the family since 1053, before the War of the Islands. It's one of the few houses that is painted a deep color instead of a bright one, painted a deep red. As well as the family house, the family owns a good portion of Northentong, having extended family working in various businesses. They also have some fields outside the Northentong territory that they grow the lilies, both the ones they sell and the ones grown for coming of age purposes. a simple barn is kept in the center with tools and flower buds.

Agriculture & Industry

Lilies are the name and game of the Lylion Family (hence their family name). Every year they grow several high-quality beds of lilies to sell and export. the lilies are grown and sold for numerous occasions and holidays (weddings, funerals, birthdays, courting, Myranelynia Day, etc.). Occassionaly they grow and sell other kinds of flowers, including ones imported onto the island. because those flowers are of a limited variety, they are grown and sold for the most special of occasions, normally a royal wedding or funeral. There have been a few times where both buds and full grown flowers have been sent to the family as a gift from other islands.

Education

The main family that is expected to run the business is taught with both basic education (reading, writing, arithmetic, and history) as well as business manners and accounting. Every child of the main family learns the trade and how to grow the best flowers, even if they do not inherit the family business.

Every year they grow several high-quality beds of lilies to sell and export. Most of the lilies are local, going to the other Earthein towns and cities and even to some cities of the other kingdoms. Sometimes, other islands call for lilies and so they pack some up and export them to the appropriate island(s).

The Lylion Family sometimes imports buds and seeds of other flowers to try and grow them. sometimes, they succeed and have a limited supply of foreign flowers, other times they don't work. they also sometimes import extravagant items to adorn their family home (since sometimes they have a very good year and are swimming in money).
